From Blogger to Broadcaster: The Story of "Tales from the Warriors Hall"

It all started, as many things do in this hobby, with a simple passion for Kings of War.
For a long time, this blog was my main outlet—a place to share my content, thoughts on the game, and connect with the community. It was my corner of the internet, and I loved it.
Then, life threw me a curveball. A change in circumstances meant I was forced to use public transport for a six-month-long commute. As you can imagine, I wasn't thrilled. But to pass the time, I got a decent set of wireless headphones and started diving deep into the world of podcasts.
The "Aha!" Moment
I was listening to some great Kings of War content, but I quickly realised something: the shows I was hearing were almost all American, Australian, or European. The big UK-based podcast, "Four Foot Snake," had unfortunately hung up its mic, and nobody had stepped in to fill the silence.
There was a gap. A huge, UK-shaped gap.
Every day on that bus, the same thought kept rolling around my head: "Someone should really start a UK-specific podcast. Someone should be talking about our scene."
Eventually, that thought changed to: "What if we did it?"

Our Humble (Temu) Beginnings
I came home and pitched the idea to my partner, Jan. And just like that, "Tales from the Warriors Hall" went from a vague idea to a full-blown project.
Now, we didn't have a professional studio. Our initial setup was... let's call it "budget-friendly." We armed ourselves with a mixing deck from Temu, a microphone, and our tiny (but mighty) laptop. We had no idea what we were doing, but we were excited.
To say it was a journey of discovery is an understatement. Jan and I became part-time hobbyists and full-time students of "YouTube University." We watched countless tutorial videos. We trawled through forums trying to understand RSS feeds, audio levels, and how to edit out all the times we burst out laughing (or dropped a mini). It was a steep learning curve, and I'm sure those first few episodes are a bit rough, but we were doing it.

From the UK to the World
We just wanted to chat about the Kings of War scene in the little old UK. We never expected what would happen next.
Today, I'm incredibly proud to say that we have over 50 episodes under our belt.
The most amazing part? It's not just for the UK anymore. We now have a fantastic international audience. We get messages from people all over the world—listeners who tune in every episode to hear what's happening in our corner of the hobby.
What started as a way to pass a boring commute has turned into a global conversation, all centered around the game we love. It's been an incredible ride, and we're so grateful to every single person who has downloaded, listened, and joined the community.
We're still just two hobbyists with a laptop, but we can't wait to see where the journey takes us next.
